Analysis of Major Polyphenolic Compounds of Cydonia oblonga Miller (Quince) Fruit Extract by UPLC-MS/MS and Its Effect on Adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 Cells

Cydonia oblonga miller (quince) plant serves as a potential folk medicine for treating hypertension and cardiovascular diseases in China. However, to the best of our knowledge, no study has been conducted on polyphenolic profile anti-adipogenic effect quince fruit grown In current study, we aimed investigate extract’s major phenolic compounds, evaluate their antioxidant activity, examine adipogenesis 3T3-L1 cells. A rapid sensitive analytical method was established simultaneous determination compounds by using ultra-pressure liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (UPLC-MS/MS). Among 10 cryptochlorgenic acid noticed most abundant compound both purified (242.44 ± 0.73 µg/mg dw) unpurified extract (3.37 0.01 followed quercetin 3-rutinoside chlorogenic acid. Alternatively, extracts possessed high quantity acids (purified = 483.10 5.16 dw 7.89 0.02 dw). The exhibited strong capacity (DPPH: EC50 3.316 µg/mL, ABTS: 36.38 µg/mL) compared extract. Additionally, results also showed that at 100 µg/mL significantly suppressed preadipocyte differentiation decreased lipid droplets up 69% mature adipocytes. present highlights an accurate fast detection its antiadipogenic effects. provides necessary information rational development utilization source phytochemicals.
